MY BIG YEAR
The Big Year isn’t just a movie about birding, it’s real. For those who haven’t seen the movie it’s a bird watching competition about who can see the most birds of the year!

It’s “officially” hosted by the ABA, American Birding Association, but is mainly an honor system. People trust that your honest about the amount of birds you’ve seen and it’s quite celebrated to be the best birder of the year.

I will be taking a little bit of a different approach. For my first Big Year I will be trying for 100 Species, not just birds. I’m going to try my hardest to take pictures of each creature but sometimes I just won’t have a camera on me. That is where the honor system comes in.

About Myself
I’m a photographer and I hope to spend the rest of my life working behind a camera. I’ve spend that last few years working as a camera op, schooling, and hoping to establish myself in the world. It’s a slow and steady process.

My all time dream is nature photography. The idea of spending weeks outside in the mountains is really my ideal. I’ve always felt like you need to be traveling to exotic and extreme locations to be a wildlife photographer but I had a change of heart. At first it was just personal but now it’s become this site.
